I did it! (Another "glass anticipation" thread)

Well, I had to sell just about everything else but I'm finally on my way to playing with grown-up glass.

I sold:
Minolta 70-210 f/4 (beercan)
Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 (I'm going to miss that lens)
Sony HVL-F56AM (too much flash for me anyway)

and I got the Minolta 28-70 f/2.8 G

He's not mailing it until Friday and it has to get here from the UK so I've got to wait more than a week before I get my hands on it. Still, I'm very, very excited. I guess I'll be shooting with the 50mm f/1.7 for the next two weeks because that's about the only glass I've got left! :rofl

(Slightly premature) congratulations.

Don't mean to rain on your parade, but that seems like a big trade off for a standard zoom. I just sold my 24-70. I picked up a 14mm, 40mm, and a 150 macro. And I still have $ left over to go to Mexico for a week.

Enjoy though. ;P

Have you ever hung out over at DYXUM.com .......if you don't it is a forum for and about digital Minolta ........ (and sony) Users.....they used to have a "flea Market" also.....was a real nice group....but when I got hooked here I did not have time to get back over there.............

I'm not a big primes guy. I like my 50 fine but I'd go nuts without quality zooms. Selling what I did gave me enough money to pick up the 24-70G and an adequate flash - so I'm pretty happy with that.

Yep - that's where I sell and buy almost all of my gear. I don't spend much time there other than in buy/sell though.

Update:

Got the tracking number - should be delivered Friday by 4:30pm EST.

It took 2 days to get from the UK to Memphis and will take another 2 full days to get from Memphis to my house (about an 8 hour drive). :cry

AHHHH! It's "on vehicle for delivery" a day early! It's coming today!!!!
