seals at la jolla cove

got to sneak away for a few minutes on sunday to take a few photos. these guys were in the shade of the breakwater at high tide so i had to dodge salt spray (as well as tourists). processed these on my laptop with PS elements...hope everything is calibrated ok...

I agree with Ed. They are all nice, but that last one is my fav Like he's thinking, what the heck are you staring at? Haven't you ever seen a handsome sea lion before?

thanks for stopping by steve, your comments are always appreciated. yeah, this dude was giving me the stink eye for being nosey during his nap time. i will have to dock some points as this is a seal and not a sea lion (i love being a deputy on the biology police force). very common mistake--one i used to make constantly on the marine bio exams in college...here's an ok linkage for our collective future ref.

thanks harry! conditions were a bit difficult and i got some salt spray on my new lens i think its ok now...i'm really starting to get into birding, but it was nice to remember my marine animal loving roots.

actually, this is my favorite as well. all the seals were laying down when i started to compose and he kept playing peekabo with me...

Gotta love those claws
These are all very nice, I like the lighting very much. Don't tell me about salt spray, I have a daylight filter on the end of my lens and I'm constantly wiping it off! Good thing I wear contact lenses or my glasses would be coated too.
