first landscape venture

landscape newb here....longtime lurker (and fan), first time poster

here are some sunsets from last sunday at la jolla cove in san diego. 3 stop ND filter used.

things to work on for next time (please feel free to add to this list!)

1) i need more forground detail...maybe fill flash or split filter
2) my comp needs some work, but i cant exactly put my finger on it...please helpne_nau.gif

limited experience prevents me from any more ideasheadscratch.gif

    I'd definately lop off a third of thetop in the first and a third of teh bottom in the second and gaining a bit more shadow detail is an easy fix. Otherwise really nice landscapes.Thnxs for sharing.

    Well you know I'm no landscape expert, but I know what I like and here I would like more detail in foregrounds (a little dark on my monitor)

    Oh and here comes the smart .........butt comment :
    Maybe a bird a surfer a boat something to add an interesting detail :D

    thanks for the suggestions labs (big lab fan here as well! that reminds me, i need to post of pics of my young lab kuma). these any better?

    now about bringing up that foreground detail...any PS suggestions? levels? curves? shadow/highlights? thanksthumb.gif

    thanks for the comments ben. more foreground for sure. i was hoping the swirling of the ocean would provide interesting detail...but i think i blew that when i made it so dark in the foreground. i'll keep playing to see if it can be salvaged...or better yet try again!
