First time...using close up filter!

They are not great by any means...but I thought I would try!

    Nice series of shots- think the shallow DOF in #3 and #4 works well.
    Think you can see the chromatic aberration effects in #2 with the blue edges to the white flower.

    What chromatic aberration mean? Sorry, I am new to this.

    it's where you get colour banding around high contrast edges see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chromatic_aberration for more explanation.

    how are you going to walk 50 miles without taking the first step right? :D

    i think you got some nice shots for your first attempt. macro photography can be hard without a true macro lens, i know, ive tried all sorts of stuff because i always lacked the budget rolleyes1.gif

    I'm not sure if the aspects that didnt work out so well in these shots are due to your equipment or to the 'operator' or maybe a bit of both. there are more ways of making macro photos such as extention tubes or reverse macro, these may suit you better and wont break the bank mwink.gif
