Beatle?

The other night I was sitting on my front porch and I hear this thing. I look up and it's a kamakazi beatle flying right at me. I tried to move but it was too late. This guy landed right on my lip and bit me with those huge claws. I swat at it and it fell off my lip and I thought it flew away. I then came inside my house, sat at my keyboard and wouldn't you know it, I feel something biting my arm. I'm not sorry to say that he had to die. I'm sure I'll get some PETAfile looking to sue me for this one. "Ohhh the poor bug".

As far as the photo... Any opinions on the quality of the lens itself? Can anyone see anything within this photo to lead you to believe there is a flaw with the lens?
