Snowy Egret Landing in Venice Beach Canal

I hate to post anything next to Ric's 'Barn Swallows' image.... A hard act to follow.

I caught this guy in the middle of L.A. at the Venice Canals. I was testing a 2X Extender with my Canon 70-200 on a 5D Mark II - I tried to snap him about a foot high in hover but he was too quick for me and I got him just as he touched down. The blurred legs are actually a bush leaf in Bokeh...

You should (actually you should not!) see some of my early attempts at widlife! Your's is terrific in comparison.:D

A lot of things can and do go wrong when trying to capture nature's creations.

I'll have 200 so-so frames before coming up with one like the swallows shot.
