#6 isn't straightened. #8 was a harsh crop - player was around midfield, shooting position was behind the goalline. No noise reduction done. +10% saturation added. Aside from that, only cropped. Border added on export out of Lightroom.

Shot at 1/320th-1/400th, 2.8, ISOs 11400-12800 on the D3 with 400 2.8. EXIF should be intact for all.

Enjoy, I hope! :)

Gosh. It must have been very dark. I never used ISO that high for soccer (old camera XSi only went to 1600) but may have to try some this coming fall.

Under those conditions and low shutter speeds you got some really nice shots. I wonder how these would look after using Noiseware or some other noise reduction? Have you tried it to see? Or do you just not like those type results.

    Either way thanks for posting.

Thanks for posting these without NR! I like seeing what our gear alone is capable of.

Can you post some of those with noise reductions, other correction. I have noisy images that I could probably save depending on how good some npoise programs are.

You really need to do NR to the original, pre-PP and sharpening. I have the D700(same sensor as D3) and if you shoot with NR off, and bring it into Lightroom and apply NR there, the results are quite good. Besides, what's wrong with a little noise anyways? I kind of like it.

Oh, I know it needs to be done. I had touched up the orders in post.

I had just previously never seen someone shoot high ISO on the D3, without any noise reduction. Was curious to see how it'd go. :)
