Anyone ever tried this?

I noticed Brando is selling an interesting looking flash accessory set. I wonder if anyone has tried it or has any comments on it? I'm a long time Gary Fong Lightsphere user, and also use various home-made light modifiers which are all I need — but this kit looks somewhat interesting.:scratch

Some of these look so big you'd expect the signaling would be affected??ne_nau.gif

Seems like you need the adapter as well http://gadget.brando.com.hk/flash-adapters-for-professional-flash-set_p00947c057d001.html, which pushes the price up another $20. Still, if the components are large enough to work (would those tiny barn doors have any real effect?), the variety of modifiers could be really useful.

Only the Canon 550 and 580 series flashes listed, so guess this is no good for me since I have a 430ex. Shame, as it does look interesting.

Might be a problem on camera hotshoe, but off-camera you can just use the swivel to get the IR pointed where you need it away from any accessories.

No, it says one adapter is included ... but I had not noticed that link.

Other adapters will allow someone who has, say, the supported Sony flash CA-2 adapter (which also adapts the 430ex by the way) also to use the modifiers on both, or if you have two 580's one adapter for each.

I have two 430EXs and one 580ex and am considering a purchase of the "kit" IF I can find some positive feedback. It would help my "portable" studio set up where I usually use home-made modifiers. But the product may be junk ... I would prefer someone else to play guinea pig with THEIR $$!.

Shameful of me, I guess, but ....

Not sure that I would use it much as shown on body, but for an easy portable off camera lighting option that looks pretty cool.
