Sunset Flowers

Another from my Montana trip. While returning from Glacier park with my family, we came upon this field of flowers right along the mountains. I returned there the next day and spent a LONG time waiting for the sun to get in the right position for this shot:



This was captured along the front range of the Rockies, near the town of Choteau Montana.

Tech Details: Shot with Canon 30D and 10-22 at 12mm. Pano created from 11 bracketted frames (-1/0/+1) stitched in PT Gui. 3 resulting panos tone mapped using Photomatix, and the result was finished off in CS4.

Nice result. It was worth the wait.

An exquisite shot, James! I love the pano format, the light, and the colors. I may have done some bracketing or used GND filters to bring out a little more detail from the right side of the sky, but the shot is still great as is.

Thank you all for your comments. I've actually resubmitted the shot, and spent more time trying to bring out the sky on the right side.

Thanks Mahesh. I also like it better this way, due to the greater amount of detail around the sun.

Beautiful capture. I love the near/far focus. You have good clarity all the way through the scene. Great colors. Glad you stopped the car.
