My name is Fred and have just joined not too long ago. You folks shoot some incredible photographs. :bow My preference is natural photography and I am lucky enough to live in the Blue Ridge Mountains and have ample subjects year 'round. I just made the transition to digital last fall so am still learning the diffs from film. Used to shoot Nikon FG, now Nikon D80. I give my first humble offerings:

Black Snake

this fellow was sunning in the middle of the road. I had just received the D80 the night before and was out learning how to use it.

Seagull

Was taking a Chesapeake area Ferry, a kid with a loaf of bread started feeding a frenzy of Seagulls. Grabbed the FG w/ 200mm lens and several rolls of film and started shooting. This was my favorite.

Let me know what you think. I look forward to sharing with you.

Current Equipment: Nikon D80, Nikor 18-55mm, and (non nikon)70-300mm
Still carry the Nikon FG, 50mm, and 70-200mm

Welcome to the forums! Nice start. The seagull in flight is a nice catch. I love snakes too. You might try bumping up the exposure in Photoshop. There is a lot of detail in there. clap.gif

Thank you for the advice. Here is the adjustment on the snake. I use GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) for my post editing and am learning that you ARE allowed to adjust the shot.mwink.gif I am/was minimalistic about this process, shooting film for so long I tended to focus on the shot and not worry about software. This I think will help me take better digital photographs, just need to get over the purest in me.:D

    Here is the adjusted shot.
