Welcome Herman wave.gif and what a spectacular shot thumb.gifthumb.gif Sharpness, contrast and color are awesome clap.gif The DOF is fantastic nod.gif

If you are into this sort of thing, IMHO this is a shoo-in for a any of those POTD sites that have a macro category. Matter of fact, again IMHO, this one is worth sending in to Kodak :flash

Good work and since this is one of the first pics you've shared with us, you sure set the bar pretty high for your next posted shots....Laughing.gif I'll be looking for them in the near future :D

Hi everyone - thank you for your welcomes & comments. Much appreciated! Looks like I'm going to have quite a ball participating on this forum.

The flower is unfortunately an unknown species to me. I took the photo at The Gardens of Helligan in Cornwall, UK. The colours are just as realistic as displayed on the photo. Also got the Kodak feeling when viewing it!

Steve, I know...... I know, there is always room for improvement! That is the nice thing from forums such as this..... you always learn from them!

The clarity on many of these macroshots are amazing. How do you get it so clear?
