Digital frames . . .

I find that being a hobbyist/occasional pro is a difficult path. That desperate NEED (yes need) for new glass or a new 1D4 (when it arrives) is not easily justified when weighed against a grandmother's NEED (yes need) to put swish clothes on the grandchildren.
Framing magnificent prints of said grandchildren is OK (well, more that OK), but there is the wall-space factor to consider. So, to cut a long story short, what is the state of the art in large digital frames? I can't believe that some manufacturer, somewhere has not foreseen MY need to smooth the ruffled feathers of a grandmother who doesn't appreciate the finer qualities of 'L' glass.
What are your suggestions?:scratch

I did this a couple years ago, now days, I'd go with a USB Thumb drive with LInux loaded on it.
Oh, one trick, I used sheets of color foam (wal-mart craft section) and cut the center out, then mounted the LCD against this, it was crisp and clean and allowed a little cushion.
EFS 17-55 f/2.8 & 10-22 // Sigma 30mm f/1.4 & 50mm f/1.4
Sigma Bigma OS // Canon 70-200 IS f/2.8
In that search I did come across some high end frames from Photovu (http://www.photovu.com/index.php) that were much larger and much more expensive.
