a few shots from our epic hike. I opted for my little 50/f1.8 for the trip to lighten my load. Not wide enough for my taste, but I have the Nikon 35mm on order....hope it ships someday. A few of the pans below are stitched from veritically-handheld shots.

caught the action from across the lake of Robert snagging a 4lb brown trout

one of the reasons i took the 50/f1.8 was to be as shallow with DOF as I could. This was a quick test shot to setup the whole crew photo...it'll be a keeper in our family scrapbook, that's my son and me.

for the final shot at the end of the 50+ mile journey I got this at the trailhead. I popped up the flash to fill in the shadows and lessen my post-processing work.

again, the DOF I was going for. Too bad I got no faces tho.

What a beautiful place and a fun set of images. Looks like a great time was had by all. Thank you for sharing. The water in the last shot looks very inviting, especially with all the hot weather we've been having recently in Seattle. :D
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap but memories are priceless.
