Melody and Mike... another one of my non weddings.... just a guest, asked to take some pictures.... It seems to be a pattern :dunno Well I made sure again that it was ok and the bride kept insisting it wasn't a problem...so I put on the long lens and stayed out of the way. I think I got some nice shots....not as many as the last wedding though. I wanted to KILL the videographer though.... he was in the middle of everything with the bright light shining directly on the faces. Ruined a few really nice pictures. I am glad my next 2 weddings that I am "official" don't have one! This was also the couple that I did an engagement shoot for as a gift and lost all the pictures when I had just started working in lightroom...never got them back but was able to recreate from screen shots. If you want to take a look they are here... http://wingsoflove.smugmug.com/gallery/8871888_EWcwd/1/588124846_kyeWG These are a few of my wedding favorites... would love some feedback :lust

Wow, these are all really good! BUT number 3 is incredible! I am going to have to remember to tell people to stop for a smooch on the way to the getaway!

She sure has the classic barbie doll bride look down! The shots you did get are really nice, so don't hate the videographer tooo bad. (I use flash sometimes and that makes videographers crazy, so we just have to put up with each other!)

Thanks Heather for the kind words! I will have to learn to deal the the videographer but this guy was just too much! He was on the small dance floor in everybody's face all night, was very frustrating.... even when I was the one dancing....hate to see what that looks like :D

    6 is my favorite.
Dealing with other vendors is part of the deal I guess.
My favorite is control freak DJ's.
Believe it or not I have never had to work with a videographer.
But that all changes the first weekend of August when I have 2 weddings with videographers.

Some nice shots, looks like you had fun with it.

    2, 3, and 6 are beautiful!

The flash looks a bit strong in the first shot...and with the skin tones you have shown us in the color shots I cant imagine that #1 looks better in BW than color....mwink.gif

Shes a beautiful bride and you have captured that well!thumb.gif

Thanks so much Jeff for the response! Beautiful bride that she is! I will have to look again into that first one. It think I changed it to black and white because of the church colors casting a strange color glow. The over flashyness was actually a combination of people's flashes going at the same time I think. I was a guest in the pew and my flash actually hit the back of the person in front of me's shirt so I had to crop her from her father because of it but couldn't trash it because she had such a natural smile. But thanks for the critique..... they are always welcomed!

Thanks Swartzy, I have to believe that I am much improved since I started hanging out with you guys just about a year ago! Mostly due to the mainstays of this board like you but where have you been? You haven't seemed to have been around for awhile.. Hope it's because you have been crazy busy! Thanks for the positive feedback!

Hi and thanks to the both of you. Yes, I've been crazy busy and just have had NO TIME to visit here much lately. A few wedding/engagement shoots here and there added with business product shoots, senior shoots, family and couples.....not much time to do much other than shoot and edit. It's a good thing but has left me out of the loop here on Dgrin. Hopefully, I'll get caught up and can participate more. I miss hanging out here. I'll try to share some things once a few projects are completed. Have a deadline with about 40 more images to finish for a catalog..each taking a minimum of 20 minutes per edit...but...hey, they are looking nice...Laughing.gif

Keep up the great work. It's so nice to see creativity and the strive for excellence. Thanks for sharing!
