1) godaddy account, 2) sharpening

two questions:

1) I have been with godaddy for several years and planned on using this domain with smugmug. With godaddy I have my domain and a hosting account. If I plan on using this domain for smugmug, do I need a hosting account with godaddy? Is all I need is a domain from godaddy?

2) I sharpen my images using nik sharpener pro. I planned on sharpening images prior to uploading them. I noticed in the gallery settings it has some presets for sharpening. What do others do? Do you sharpen before loading your images? Do you set these values to 0 or leave as defaults?
