I think that the 2 shots of the same yucca plant by 2 different people offers a real insight into how photographers view the world - 2 different interpertations of the same scene produce different feelings and results and yet both are very good shots. nice - it is in the eye of the shooter and each gets exceptional results

    yes, webs of some type.

how? hardest part is moving around until you get the most refection and fire away hoping for the best...(obviously this was the best of a number of shots...)

    +1,

Its fairly funny we did this at nearly the same time... at least I think so... he was walking right there next to me....and we were clicking away at everthing in sight during the brief minutes of golden light....

thanks Walter, Most of these type averaged 6-7 feet high, the yucca around Saint George with the White flowers seem to only average 5-6 feet high.

anyway, as you see, these have small seed pods not flowers.... I will make it a goal to find out more about them...

I need to take some time and figure out how to process this one a little better... did you notice the sensor grids in the lower righthand corner area? I want to fix that issue before I try a print.

Thanks Aaron. Sometimes it eats at me to find out what some of this stuff is for sure. I was lucky to hang on a bus at Zion last year that the driver was into plants. I'm trying to remember what he called the ones there. I know yucca baccata (banana yucca), and I don't think these are them, so I'm going with Yucca harrimaniae ssp. gilbertiana (Harriman's yucca(?)). It seems to fit the profile. Here's a reference pageif you might need a headstart:
