This was a very fun wedding... not so much because of how fancy or eclectic it was... but because the guests, couple and their families were such neat and lovely people. Happy people are so easy to photograph.

3.
My new favorite ceremony photo:
Overheard conversation between two groomsmen:
"What are you doing?"
"Fainting."
And then a bridesmaid fainted just a bit later.
It was really hot in there.
4.
This was after the kiss.
I love the 9.5
(Note: not my shadows. They had these horrible gelled super hot stage lights that threw patches of red and blue everywere. Should be a law against that.)
5.
Gotta love chimping as a group.
6. My other new favorite groomsmen shot... the running shot. It always cracks me up since the groomsmen view it as some sort of race. But it pulls out some great expressions.
7.
The father daughter dance
8. Cake
9. The videographers did up a quick montage of the day and played it at the reception.
10.
You gotta love young couples and their classy rides.
11.
12.
The couple and I met up at a local park where they got engaged for some photos of just the two of them. The light was perfect. Which always makes me happy!
13. I just love the line of her shoulder and neck. So pretty.
14. When we had met for her consultation before the wedding we looked through a brides mag for a few minutes and saw a photo she loved in one of these highbacked wicker chairs. She said she had one at home so we brought it along for some fun photos.
15.
16.
17. The exact spot where he proposed.
18. (Its his dad's.)
19.
20.
21. Ok, I'm going to have to go over 20.
22. (You might have seen this in the challenge section)
Intentional blue cast.
23.
24.
And then they were off to catch their flight to Hawaii.
If you have a few minutes and want to see more, here is their slideshow.
I am still getting the hang of the showit slideshows, so you can feel free to let me know how I did on that. (hopefully this link works.)

Mr DavidTO! Fun to have you visit the wedding forum. What a treat!
(Thanks!)
PS - The slideshow moves along at a pretty quick clip. IMO it would be nice to linger on the images just a smidge longer.
Comments and constructive critique always welcome!

6,7,13,15, 19 and 20......stunners!
#3...I always try to sneak a few of the parents during the ceremony...as well as a shot of the groom as soon as the bride makes her entrance....I love the emotion!!! I wish that there was more of the woman at left.....and the bright light over his left shoulder in the BG could use a dose of burning in to douse it a bit. I see myself in that shot in a few years....:cry
4 and 5 the candids are well timed and fun!!! crop the cars away in 5.
10 and 11....I am digging the ride out. That is sooo much more fun than a rented limo. Kudos for their sense of humour and earthiness!
7 is perfect!
Ill have to check out the slideshow........

Love the first one! It's one thing to see the moment, and an other, to actually take a photo without making the kiddo uncomfortable
#5. Awesome!!
#7. (Father daughter dance). Just beautiful!
#12. Beauuutiful
#13. Very jealous you got a bride that was willing to sit on the grass. Just a beautiful shot
#14 & 15 ... hmmmmm that light
#18. Did you get a front / side shot of the harley? I've seen some really cool wide angle shots. Haven't had the luck myself to have a harley at an of my weddings, still waiting
#19. One of my favorites. Almost wish the bike would be on a road though, would make the viewer think they were actually driving ...
Beautiful, beautiful set
19 makes me squee! Also love 1, 7 (), 11, and 15.

To Elaine and Carole Hays:
I totally agree with you on the speed of the slideshow. I had it set to about double that amount of time and then would run out of song. I cut out as many photos as I could stand and made just fit.... and that song was 4 1/2 minutes long! What would be awesome is if I could figure out how to use more than one song (short ones) for each segmant of the shoot. Any showit smartypants out there?
To Shima and Mishka- Thanks very much! It was a perfect park... but I can't take the credit since I followed the couple there in order to find it myself! It is a little out of my normal path.
To Jeff- I would say that you are getting the hang of the color guessing, but you cheated....they were black in the black and white.. Really nothing to guess!:giggle Cheater-cheater-pumpkin-eater.
I imagine their getaway car was chosen more by economics rather than style. Though it was still really cute! I cracked up with your earthy comment. Yeah, thats what it was: an earthy, rusty, muscle car.
To Matthew S: The light on the cake shot was simple dimple- 2 lightstands with gelled speedlights and cloud lightspheres. There was flourescents in the room, but they were pretty crappy. I think I was at ISO 800, and I think I had the lights set at 1/2 ratio one to the front of the cake and one to camera left.
To Angie: I did get a front shot of the harley with the father of the groom on it.... so I didn't want a duplicate for the couple. But it was a super sweet ride. Aaaaand the way I get my brides to sit on the grass is I always carry a white sheet with me in my gear bag. I just set that down and have the bride sit on it and we hide the sheet tucked under her. It was also used in the bridge shots where she was leaning against the rusty handrail, but I bet you didn't notice! (#20). Thanks for the comps!
To Llewellen: I now have a new goal for my shoots: to obtain the Kerry-squee! Thank you!
To Caroline: Thanks so much! I am glad you liked the chair shots... they were really fun to make!
To ColdClimb: Actually the park is called Peters Creek Park... and the bridge spans (you guessed it) Peters Creek. And it is located in the town called.... (just kidding- you can figure it out.) Yeah, its just off the Old Glenn. No children's equipment, but I hear there is a killer frisby golf course. I was thinking I needed to take my fam to it.
In a couple weeks I might hit you up for ideas for a Trash the Dress session location... springs or waterfalls near roads but with that great AK wilderness look is what I am needing! (Although I am sure there are some great ones on the other side of some cliff somewhere, no thanks! Class "easy peasy", pleasy.)
To JayeGirl: ha ha! And thanks!
To Saurora: Wowee and thanks! She certainly was lovely- I had many people ask if she was a dancer- but I don't think so.
Is this the one you wanted? Not anywhere as nice as the horizontal orientation, IMHO...

Great job Heather!
To Diva: I have been working so hard on becoming more consistant and nailing my exposures, and it is only after a lot of work that I feel like I am finally getting somewhere! So, imagine my relief! And happiness! And ease of processing! This is the first wedding where I feel as though I could comfortably hire someone to do the processing for me- not so many mistakes to fix.
To WingsOL: Most brides are that way... BUT I find it you can talk them into almost anything if you have a white sheet to put under their gown. I used one in every photo that compromised her gown. Just place the sheet, have them step on to it and tuck it under the edge of her gown. It brings them a whole lot more flexibility!
As to your other comment, if we still had snow in July, I think I would have to move or consider hara-kiri. ( ) Summer in AK is about the best that it gets. And this summer was fantastic! (We have broken the record for the average number of hot days!cavig )
Idlewild: Thanks!
7 - love this shot - guaranteed to make her & her father cry, well done!
12 - WOW....works here
15 - is perfect!!
17 - again guaranteed to make her cry, something they will never forget
24 - love this shot, somehow reminds me of Shay Stephens

Ah yes, I did recognized the bridge, but I was trying to think of a Valley park that had one like that. Peters Creek park is a great place for rigging slacklines.
I'm down to offer whatever I can for trashing dresses. My home is Archangel/Reed Valleys, but I've been a couple other places around here too . If you need a guide in person or another camera I can arrange that too, I've been wanting to meet up and shoot with a few more of the locals!

We are actually planning on taking my 4x4 up to Archangel... Ha! Great minds... August 6th during the afternoon...
"The photos of Eli and Courtney's wedding are awesome. I am very impressed. The slideshow left me just about speechless and needing a tissue (but thats part of what it's supposed to do, right?) Thanks for the job you did. Don’t know if it’s just cause it was my son’s wedding or what, but man…I say again: The photos are awesome. Probably everyone has favorites, but some of mine were Clayton (the little boy) on the steps, the groomsmen running, a family looking at a photo on their camera, well…forget this. It could take all day. You are very good at what you do. Art. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Bravo. I would highly recommend you.
Had to add to the list of favorites, of course the “angel” one. Crazy cool! Never seen things like what you do before."
So that was pretty cool... I don't usually get feedback from the couple very often since they see the proofs online and I am not there when they see them for the first time. Made my morning, really.

That's awesome, Heather! Well deserved. How wonderful to hear such great feedback!
