Traveled to California for "Vacation" *ahhem* a visit with my inlaws. I escaped for a 2 day camping/hiking trip in the Redwoods by myself.

I camped at Gold Bluffs Beach in Prairie Creek State Park...it was foggy and freezing. I could see my breath by 8pm and nearly froze at night. Here are a few photos from the trip. Unfortunately weather did not coperate with me but it was still fun.

Started at 4am, drove up I5 to Redding - Stopped in an Olive Grove to take this....

Newton B Drury Senic Parkway [runs parallel to the 101] I took this road north both days as it rarely had anyone else on it.

Elk... everywhere!

One of the prettiest places in the state. The Lost Coast offers even more isolation.

Wonderful set! Love the California Northcoast.

Glad you survived the camp out and in laws (just kidding).

I love this part of the state! So far I think it's my favorite, but I did not get photos nearly as good as these.

I hope you had a great time, and I love that shot of the hungry seagull. thumb.gif

I have to say I'm the most impressed with your capture of the beautiful Elk. Nice job!
