My first whirl with the new nikon 300mm lens, and I got some of the New Holland Honeyeaters that live in our yard. Enjoy!

    All well captured, Mike. thumb.gif

Lose that twig on #1 passing in front of the beak.

A little more space to the right on #2 might make it more pleasing...so that the tail feather isn't touching the edge.

The fifth one is nearly perfect!iloveyou.gif

    You asked for it! Laughing.gif!

A lot of people have said that they pop, which is true, but IMHO, to much. I get a feeling they all need to be a bit more.....subdued....as in the colors need to be RICHER, do you know what I mean friend?

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

lol3.gif Thanks for commenting! I am not sure I agree with you, though. The Australian colours are very vibrant when it comes to native flowers. I didn't do much to these photos other than some minor cropping, and sharpening. So what you see is pretty much what you get. These little birds are striking in their colours. The yellow really stands out.

Anyway, each to his own. Thanks again for your comments.

Cheers Glen! I think the same thing when I see all the hummer shots that people take from their verandahs!

Thanks Harry. I have a friend visiting from Japan now so I still haven't really had a chance to take it out properly... :cry
