All very nice, especially number 4. If only he'd been wearing clear lenses.

These are some nice images. I like the way you've tried to show motion. Especially in #4.

Like the last several shots that are wider and show a nice sense of motion.

I like the 7th one the best! How did you set your flash in that one?

That is SCS. The blur you are seeing is ambient light bleed through. There isn't enough light being throw from the flash to completely freeze the image as the shutter closes.

    Manual, full power, 105mm zoom.

Just for ads so far but trying. The picture on the right of Ben Day.

Now that you say that, I can see it. The brightness of the line on the pavement on the rider's leading edge threw me off, but the the blur of the helmet should have been a clue. D'oh!

I've been meaning to try second curtain synch on my camera, but since I went with the cheaper Sunpak flash, don't think it will work. Shooting mostly MTB, in deep shade, it probably doesn't make all that much of a difference either way.

#2 and #6 are my favorite.

1-3 are all framed similar, clean, nice backgrounds, but the rider in #2 has that look of suffering in his eyes. Looks more like a captured moment.

#6 is a solid photo-journalistic shot; shows the motion without coming across overly artsy like the ones around it.

    really nice stuff here.
