Rydal Water, Cumbria

On the way home from our little ride out for the day brought us toward Windermere and Ambleside, and I spotted this old boat house on the edge of Rydal Water.

Also have a closer view from the 55-250 IS lens, but this one I have added here as it allowed me to use the branches to create a bit of a frame, and add some perspective.

C&C as always appreciated.

A beautifully serene image, Paul. I love the muted tones mixed with the soft light. The composition is also fabulous. You captured yourself a real gem here. clap.gifthumb.gif

    Thanks Mahesh. :)

I don't do much landscape work, I have to travel to find nice scenery...

This is a beauty! A definate wall hanger! I like the different shades of green and the colors of the clouds.

Wonderful shot, Paul! Living in the midst of a drought in Texas, I think I have to take exception to your comment that you have to travel to get good landscapes! :D I'd give anything to be in your part of the world right now--although I guess it has been pretty hot there too this summer, right?

It is truly a wonderful shot, and one that belongs on your wall.

    Cheers,
    Lauren

    Thanks Lauren.

    Sorry about the drought...

I am in the middle of 14 days time off work (can't afford time away, so it is day trips and such) and I wish the weather was somewhere in between.

In the 10 days of my break, we have had just 2 days when the weather was good enough to even bother leaving the house. It has rained, and rained consistently, for the other 8 days. :(

Thanks for the kind comment re: the image. I'm pleased you like it. :)

    Paul.
