I'd like to announce the initial release of the kallasoft SmugMug Downloader. The SmugMug Downloader is a cross-platform Java desktop client application that can be used to download albums from your SmugMug account. SmugMug Downloader was written using the kallasoft SmugMug Java API.

For other album/image downloading solutions, be sure to check out AlbumFetcher (Windows) and RapidFetcher (Cross Platform)!

Changelog:
  • 07-28-09: Initial release. There are a few bugs around download directory selection that will be ironed out shortly.

    Thanks D! I hope folks find it handy. I've been using it to pull down some photos that I've wanted to touch up a bit before ordering prints, so it was handy for that.

    I tried to use this and all I get is a javax error everytime I try. Would really like to get this to work if I can. I can't seem to get rapidfetcher to work and I need to be able to download the pix in my smugmug account. I am on a Mac

    That's not good!

    Paul what does typing "java -version" from the command line give on your Mac? Which version of Mac? I haven't tested on Snow Leopard yet...

    Error message...
    Just tried the down loader but will not work.. see screen shot. I created a folder on my desktop called 'smug test' then logged in to my Smug account, all good.. I see my albums, select one but get the error message in screen shot.

    I click yes and nothing happens.
