I took the family to The Healing Field tonight. It's a display of 5,000 flags that honor our troops.

The display was setup at the Weber County Fairgrounds in Ogden, Utah.

The flags have been placed in a giant field in the shape of the United States.

Along with the flags was a traveling replica of the Vietnam Memorial.

A professional photographer from St. George, Utah, was there with a cherry picker to take some pano shots.

I asked him to take me up for a few shots and he was more than happy.

He wouldn't let me take my tripod, so I did the best I could hand held while the platform of the cherry picker swayed with the wind. :uhoh

I'm afraid of heights, but I knew this was an opportunity I couldn't pass up.

Saw a great sunset and had a nice conversation with Cowboy Doug about his Canon G9 and custom pano head.

Here's Cowboy Doug after turning the platform of the cherry picker so he could get a some shots.
