I'm heading out to Rainier this weekend to capture some wildflowers. I'm hoping it will be a fruitful trip. Until then, I thought y'all might enjoy the following shots from seasons past.

    Great stuff, and great variety!

    I recognize most of those locations, are you going on the Paradise side this weekend? Sunrise is at peak wildflower bloom right now but there aren't great views of the mountain with the wildflower meadows in the foreground like at Paradise. The alpenglow is better at Sunrise right now than Tipsoo as the sun is rising further north.

    Anyway, hopefully you come back with good stuff. It's very possible we'll run into each other because I think I'm going to hit Rainier this weekend and stay at Hotel Toyota again.

    Sorry Dan, you have to be a skinny young blond these days to be meteorologist, and I don't qualify :D

    I actually just shot at both spots within a few days of each other and noticed that the alpenglow was a lot better at one of them and reverse-engineered the reason after thinking about it a little.

    And for forecasts, you should use this site:

    http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?CityName=Seattle&state=WA&site=SEW&textField1=47.6218&textField2=-122.35&e=1&&FcstType=text

    Enter your city and then click on the hourly forecast in the bottom right. Really useful.

    It's going to be difficult to top what you already have here. As others have said, the first and fifth are really stand out images. I'm looking forward to seeing what new shots you'll be taking home with you. Are you going to Sunrise, Paradise, or perhaps, both?

    Thanks, Ana! I remember that day very well. The mountain was playing hide and seek with the mist and clouds. I had to wait a while before she showed enough of herself to make a good picture. :D
