I took this picture last year when i was in NYC, this shot was taken while on the Ferry to staten island, and this was before i knew anything at all about photography, i just kinda snapshot this, without knowing any settings.
I kinda like the image myself, thought i would see what you all thought.
I guess sometimes the pictures that you just take by accident turn out to be decent pictures,
only thing i done to this in lightroom was straighten the horizon a little bit

Great shot. I'd crop it a bit but I like it very much.

Beautiful shot. A little tighter crop would really show her off.

which way do you recommend cropping it, i just left it like that for the time being because of the plane in the left side of the picture, didnt know if that added anything to it or not
i am always afraid to crop, thinking i may do too much and mess the shot up

Yep, exactly. I'd crop about 3/5ths of the water off the bottom - up to about the tidal/current line you can see horizontally...

Otherwise, great capture and you're right, sometimes great shots taken themselves without us even knowing!

Great silhouette! I actually find the plane a little distracting. On this one, I don't mind the central placement of the statue. thumb.gif
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap but memories are priceless.
