I just wanted to share what it is like when a labrador puppy decides to swim on his own for the first time.CB swam once when he fell in but hadn't been back in the water since. Today he felt brave.
First the pregame jog to make sure we are all loose.
Next we test the water to make sure its not too cold.
Then we check the bottom for sharp objects
Say a prayer
Hold your breath
Blast off
I think I can I think I can
The obligatory shake
and the roll in the grass
Ahh that was easy.

Great story, Eric! Once I read the copy, this shot suddenly transformed into a little kid grimacing and squeezing his eyes tight shut as he braves the terrible water. Great fun!

I love the way you put this together-very creative. The captions are spot-on and the photography is wonderful.
thanks for sharing this It's nice to get the *warm-fuzzies* remembering some of my former dogs.
Mongrel (no pun intended.... )
Nice shots Eric! What happens when you put him in the yard with a sprinkler ?

Great set

Ian I have to dig up some old photos. The dogs are obsessed with the sprinkler and any hose in general. It's hysterical. I have to put them in the house to water my plants.
Mine used to play for hours in the sprinklers. Of course, he loved the swimming thing
as well. He used to charge out into the waves, get rolled a couple of times and go
back for more. What a giant goofball he was (70#s). I miss him.

Excellent Series
A complete package from start to finish
don't have a fav per se but find the shot of CB head coming out of the water with nostrils flared, really funny little piggy nose
I guess his fall in the water was scary so this swim has a lot to do with the trust CB has in you I'm sure, well done for both of you!!
Thanks for showing and pointing me here.
