Two good captures Steven. Both are too centered though especially the second image.
On the snowy I would leave some of the water trail in the image but I would crop off much of frame left. Better yet would have been to have done so when taking the capture. I also would have considered a vertical comp for the capture.
The tricolor definitely needs to be placed in the first third of frame left. Its also not as sharp as the snowy capture. Its a fine capture with the reflection.
If you're going to request C&C it would help us if we knew some of the exif data and camera and lens info.

Thank you and thanks for the suggestions. I agree on the snowy egret and will trying cropping it closer. When I originally tried placing the tricolor off-center, I didn't personally like how it looked as much. I will work with it some more and probably have a change of heart.

450D canon. 70-300 mm IS f 4-5.6.
You may be right and you have to go with your gut on your images. Some times the rules are meant to be broken.
