Sorry I've been quiet on the posting front lately, there are other wedding samples on my website, but the last two weddings I shot were second shooting gigs and that person doesn't like me to post my work on here... so feel free to check out my May 9th and July 11th work on here: http://photos.cathoffman.com/Weddings/794942 I just won't post photos directly into dgrin from those two.

Onto my own wedding this past Sunday :) These two were a blast to shoot, I actually knew the bride from back in college (she's a few years younger than me, but knew me since we were in the same sorority)... out of the blue about half a year ago she booked me to do her wedding, and now here's what we got! :)

    Hiya Stranger!!!

VERY nice work! I really dig the first four and their processing. Really like the hands/rings shot.

    Beautiful as always.

Ha! You got a photo of them signing papers! rolleyes1.gif

The last one, the BM next to the bride doesn't look like she is jumping or at least about to. She trying to be cool?

    I definitely like 2, 3, 4!

Nice shot with the hands. I never do that shot well. Love the jumping shot. Yes, it's a common shot -- but with your particular group - it's quite funny.

Solid work all round if a little darker than my taste.

Ted / Jeff - I totally put my personal favorites up near the top of this batch, so nice to see we agree on favorites :)

#1 is oh so lovely! How long was your shutter speed? Were you on tripod? Soooo beautiful!
(I have to shoot people by running water next week so I would love to know your settings!)

They did really good at being still!

#5 is my next favorite!!! Very nicely posed. Looks so natural!thumb.gif

I shot #1 at 1/8th for my shutter speed...ISO 100, F22. And shockingly, it was hand held. If you were to blow it up really big you'd see that the couple is a little soft as a result... it was a dangerous trek down to where I shot the photo from, so there was no way a tripod was coming with me (that and my tripod is sadly currently broke, lost one of the feet on it a few weeks ago :(...)

Looks like you were having a good time with the shoot.
Always a bonus when you can shoot a friend.
A few technical issues but overall a nice series, I am sure they were very happy with.
Did you feel extra pressure since it was a friend or less, I just wonder?

I didn't know her very well, so I didn't feel any pressure different from any other bride, but it was nice getting to sing the sorority song w/ my other sorority sisters to her husband at the reception :)

Is that near you? I ask that because the wedding that I second shot at in Valpo...we were supposed to drive somewhere to take some pictures and I'm pretty sure that was the place. Too bad that the couple changed their minds after the ceremony....that would have been awesome!!!

It's about a 10-15 minute drive north on 49 if you were coming from Valparaiso University. It's a great place, but doesn't have much shaded areas, so that's the only tricky part. But if you know how to use it a fabulous place for photos!
