Nice capture.. you must have been lying on the ground!
Thanks for the words. I was stooping and holding the camera at ground level. Fortunately, the giant toad has it figured out whereby it will wait for its food to come along rather than go chasing after it. This allowed me to stand two feet away and take a number of shots. The red focus assist of the 580 EXII allowed me to use autofocus to make the capture.
Gorgeous...love the low angle. I think toads and frogs are so photogenic.
I did love the results from shooting so low. It was my second night looking for and finding a toad to shoot -- shooting low is so much better. It also gives you an idea of the bug/snake/small mammal intimidating view of the last thing it sees before becoming a meal!

It just has a real mischievous look on its face. I love the foreground foliage. It gives a lovely natural feel to the image which is lovely and sharp.

Thanks. Maybe it has that look because it knows its poisonous nature will protect it from becoming my next meal.
