I finished processing my candids from our trip to the beach this week and discovered a few more favorites, so if you'll indulge me, I'll share a few more! Always open to C&C!

The mixture of clarity vs fog is just awesome,a nd the high key processing takes them from "snaps" to something with much more substance. Great job!
Thanks, Diva! The foggy light really enabled these shots to happen. In all my years of living near the coast, I've never seen warm, bright fog quite like this. I'd like to shoot in this again, but who knows when that will happen? Perhaps I can catch a different, cooler version in the fall. And yes, that preset just helped me nail what I was seeing in my mind's eye. Thank you very much for the comments!

Everything's so anti-sepia perfect.

Thanks, Caroline. If you're interested, or in case you missed it, I linked to the free LR preset I started my processing with in my first beach candids post.

Thanks, Mitch! My boy turns 8 this month, and he seems to be getting taller by the second. I know you know all about that! Thanks for the comments!

Thank you very much. I've never heard the term "anti-sepia," but you're right, these are certainly not sepia. I just loved the blue/gray tones for this setting. Thanks for commenting!

Thank you, Jeff! I am so pleased with these shots and I'm just tickled to have such a nice response from the folks here about them. This kind of shooting (on the fly, just because, no "work" or payment involved) with these kind of results just makes my day, my week, my month. And now I have wonderful gifts to give to my friend as well. I wish all shoots could be just like this!

I saw your first posting and both sets are some of the best beach candids I have seen in a long time! I think the LR preset you added took them to a whole different level as well.
I don't have LR, I have PS CS3. I wonder if I could get that preset for CS3...
RE: LR preset...I think some presets are able to work in LR or in ACR with Photoshop...I think. But I don't know if any LR preset can work in ACR or if it has to be made a certain way. Maybe asking about this on the Finishing School board would net you a final answer. I'm sorry I don't know more about how that works! I haven't stumbled upon many images where I thought this preset was right, but it certainly worked on this set, for me. Thanks for the kind words!
