    SmugMug is the best for the reasons you have listed !
    One more thing SmugMug's focus is Photography and people behind it are serious photographers. It really means a lot when it comes to innovations.

    welcome...I agree with all your points. You can also look at smug mug from this angle. It is the only photo site started by photographers for photographers. Think about that.

    Flickr was started as an offshoot of a MMORPG. All the other guys are from corporate America or bought by corporate america. Not say that the other guys don't have decent products...it's just smug mug appears to have photography as its guiding principle in every facet of their business. How can we make thing better, easier, value added for photographers..FROM photographers.
