I think mirror slap may have ruined a bunch of early morning macro shots this weekend. Looking for a wired remote for my Nikon D200. Can be aftermarket if reliable.

::missing how the self-timer works on my FM2::

    A couple things for you...

    - In the menu on your D200, find d5Exposure Delay Mode under CUSTOM SETTINGS MENU and turn it ON. This will cause a 4/10 sec delay for the shutter to open after the mirror has gone up. You'll hear it. Just remember to turn this off when not shooting macro stuff. You'll see why when you forget just once.

    - Find yourself an MC-20 Nikon 10pin remote. (~$30-60) Trust me... the best investment for your Nikon is Nikon. 3rd party can be hit-n-miss.

    Good luck in your search.
