I have always liked the photographs taken of movie stars from the golden era; photographers such as George Hurrell, Clarence Sinclair Bull and Robert Coburn, come to mind. There are many others who photographed the stars right there in the studio, just off the set (sometimes on) and using the very same tungston lights used to illuminate the scene. These photographers and their photos are legendary. Below, I have done my own version of a photo of Merle Oberon that was taken by Robert Coburn of United Artists (Goldwyn), in 1939.
