Back at the Tern Colony.
A pair of Tern shot up into the sky, cork-screwing around each other. Not much time to get a shot at them but here it is.
This picture captures the lower bird rising and the upper bird in a steep banking curve (see the tail feathers fully extended). When I saw this shot, I immediately thought of dancers in the sky. So gracefull but at the same time fully focussed.
A little later, the local Peregrine arrived to try and grab a quick meal. To my surprise, all the adult Common Tern flew up to intercept it, buzzed it and forced it to fly off empty clawed.
Sorry the dof is just not enough but these were only two of the dozen or so Common Tern that responded to the attack
I suppose this one could be forgiven for not obeying the sign:D
