I'm grooving on the way the steps and the paneling become interchangeable, and it makes it look like the steps drop off into a pit. The guy makes it a bit more eerie, but stairwell is pretty spooky all on its own.

thanks Andrew.. the stairwell was pretty much as you see, but that window just begged for a "bad guy"... so I roped in dh and put him in there. I'm not sure how realistic it looks...:D
Even though it is clearly a stair case, my mind immediately thinks of a cut-away section of a Sea Shell.
Your shot sort of has a spooky element to it with the person at the window, and the casting shadow on the floor.

thanks skippy and thanks everyone... The stairs are in an old New England Church. I had to add to the front as leaning over (trying not to kill myself) I cut off the front.. the window was there but dh was not. I shot him outside our living room window and put him in.. the shadow was hard for me... I'm angle challenged..
Thanks rae and thanks everyone! I'm so suprised to get positive feedback on this shot! My husband saw me working on it and said and I quote " have you lost your mind? it's too weird" .... so where does that leave US!!

I have to ask, did you think of adding glowing eyes to the figure in the window?
