Home switched to Gallery view not by me

Somehow my home page was switched from Category view to Gallery view without me doing anything. It was ok this morning but saw just now that it was changed. I have switched it back.

Also, my statcounter log is showing several hits to unlisted galleries coming from Smugmug:
(All of those blurred gallery paths are unlisted - the long first entry was a hit to a specific photo in an unlisted gallery, while the others at the bottom were each to other unlisted galleries)

-edit - and are those other links (viewby=galleries) responsible for changing my layout?

-edit 2 - upon further review, the first link was not to an unlisted photo, but the other ones were hits to three different unlisted galleries.

You, the logged in owner are the only one who has the ability to change view by category or view by gallery. Not much else we can say about that one.

The hits on your unlisted galleries have no referring link so there is no data on where they came from. Are you sure those are not your own hits? Are you sure you haven't given the link to this gallery to person or any web site or put it on any web page or in any posting? Was the gallery ever unlisted?

Look at the IP address identification for those hits: "Smugmug Inc". That's where the hits came from, not where they're going. Included in those hits are ones that appear to have set my site to gallery list instead of category. I'm assuming smugmug personnel have the ability to edit sites (since we see examples of Andy or others making CSS changes to people's sites when needed).

If you want to resolve this one with Smugmug, you might contact Smugmug support directly since none of us helpers can tell you anything about it.

It was an easy fix, I just had to switch it back to Category view, but theoretically if I hadn't checked around that time, it could have stayed that way for awhile.

My main concern is why is someone coming into my site from a Smumug IP address and changing my site setting without my permission, and also poking into unlisted galleries?

Anyone from Smugmug have any comments regarding this?

Never mind, I found the display: categories galleries selection.

I was starting to hyperventilate there. eek7.gif

If you can email me specifics, ATTN ANDY at the help desk, I can check into it. We don't change settings but we can look at any site on SmugMug that we want to (it's in our terms). We don't, though, as a rule, go 'poking' round. We may have gotten to your site via a search though.
