I am a family portrait photographer looking to upgrade software and trying to figure out what to buy.
Please help!

I am definitely going to purchase (with my new mac) the full version of photoshop and microsoft office.

I would like to purchase one or two more photography related software.
Does anyone recommend lightroom or aperture? which one is better?
Any other software that would be useful for me as a portrait photographer?

Thanks for the suggestions!
Reyna

Since you're going to get PS CS (and I do vote for that since it's the ultimate weapon), see what CS Bridge can do for you before getting heavily invested into LR. Starting from CS4 I found Bridge being more than able to cover all my needs. deal.gif

Personally, I would not purchase Microsoft Office and - instead - use the free, open-source Open Office. That leaves money for photographic goodies.

I would have a look at Portrait Professional. I think it does a great job, and is reasonably priced (no affiliation!).

Here are 'before' and 'after' shots with one I took a couple of years ago.
