I decided that i wanted to do one more peak before i headed to Thailand to satisfy my peak thirst until i got back! So i left from work and went to the bike shop to get my bike fixed, the back tire had been rattling. Turns out the casseste had come right off of the axel and they guy said it would be a few hours. He got to it quick enough and soon i was headed out to the trail. I got to the glen alps trailhead and started to put my bike together but i soon found out i did not have all the parts! Dangit! I drove all the way home and got the parts and drove like a madman back. Another hour wasted. It was now 12:30 and i had been up all night working and was now heading to the peak. I had a headwind the whole way up the valley so it was at times slow going. After a few hours i was over the pass and headed down to the peak. It was a beautiful Saturday with minimal winds once i was at the peak and i had it all to myself!
I hooked around and made sure to keep WC's words in my head saying "dont get suckered" and soon found the right path. It was a long seeming slope and it just did not want to end!! Once on the top i replaced the paper, entered my name in the register and headed down. Once I got over the pass and had a good 5 miles left before the car i started to hear a hissing noise. I checked and sure enough my tire was leaking air! So i did the only logical thing and hauled some serious butt back to the car. Flying through rivers and going as fast as i could. Made it to the car at 5:30 without incident and with burning legs.
