What is a Buddy?

IOW, how can you get email notification of all new posts by a particular dGrinner without first subscribing to all the threads?

Tried adding that person to Buddy list, but didn't get that result. So, what does it mean to add s/o to your Buddy list/

    But seriously, as far as I know, there's no way of getting instant notification of any/all posts by a given user. Even we mods don't have that power. The buddy list is just a shortcut to looking up your buddies, bringing it up will show you their status and a personalized list to click through, rather than searching for each one individually.

    Feel free to search the web for vBulletin hacks/add-ons. If you find one and make a compelling case, we'll consider adding it here.

    Yah, as far as I can tell, Buddy is a completely useless designation.
