Sharpening photos question

Greetings! I'm brand new to smug mug. and so far love it! I just have a question on the sharpening work-flow for the site. When I usually post on the web, ie flickr, I resize and sharpen my photo then upload to web. I'm kind of confused about smug mug's sharpening process. I understand that it only sharpens for display purposes and not the original, however, if I want to have selective sharpening in my photo what should I do?

Thanks in advance for your time.

Matt

Do your selective sharpening on the full-res original. Upload that. Smugmug will then create web display copies from that original and, as part of that process, it will size them down, then apply just enough sharpening to maintain the sharpening level you had in your original in the smaller copies.
