    Ack, how did I miss this? What a scary-looking moon, and I mean that in a good way. :D

    It looks like it was worth the wait. Is the distortion in the sphere due to air pollution? Also, what lens do you have to use to get a moon that large? I take it you were in Marin? ear.gif

    2nd moonrise shot is very cool.

    No way to have known this at the time, but the distortion that makes the moon look good makes the fg seem pretty soft.

    Yup. There was a slight fog and that probably contributed to the distortion (& lack of definition).

    I tried my Sigma 300 w a 1.4 (for the first time), I was at f4 & had to kick up the EV - perhaps too much. Couldn't see it in the lcd.
