I was messing around with my 50mm f/1.8 and decided to get my Dad's attention and snap a pic. As you can tell, he wasn't too enthusiastic. I resized it and used a couple of onOne filters for the final look. Any C & C is welcomed, thanks...

Nice picture. Little things I noticed (I'm no pro at this, tho): the shadowing is very nice down low, but washes out near the top of his head. The cropping seems to have him a bit far to the left.

I like the tone and mood.. As mentioned already I may have re cropped it a little, still keep him nice and left, but not so small and left..

I recropped it a bit tighter like suggested. Improvement?

(the recrop is now in the first post)

Nice shot and the conversion looks good. Personally, I'd crop a bit more from the right side as he still looks to be crowded into the left. It looks like maybe you've placed his right eye 1/3 of the width from the left? If so, try cropping enough to move the bridge of his nose to that spot. Or, rather than making your image smaller, do the same from the original. I think you've got a good shot once you've got him where you want him in the frame. thumb.gif
