Dgrin Sharp Shooters Challenge #31

Welcome to Round #31 of the Dgrin Sharp Shooters Challenges. This challenge is open to any Dgrin member. It will run from Monday, August 10, 08:00am, EST time (GMT -4) to Monday, August 24, 08:00am, EST time (GMT -4).

The topic ready for your interpretation: Open or Closed

You shall not pass! Er, wait...I think you could if you step over the broken bits. :D Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to illustrate something open or closed. Doors, eyes, pathways, boxes, and anything else you can imagine. You can invite your audience in to explore, or keep them out with a sense of foreboding. What do you say, will you let us in?

IMPORTANT NOTE: Your entry is to be submitted directly into a Smugmug gallery. It's pretty simple, just go to the gallery link below, and follow the upload instructions at the top of the page: Remember, the basics stay the same: 1 entry per person, and the photo must be fresh, taken during this contest period. Do not use a minimal save method (such as "save for web"), and your exif will be embedded in your image, no worries!

To avoid disqualification, read, in full, the Dgrin Sharp Shooters Challenge Rules, there have been some slight modifications.

    If think I'm going to take a picture of and old telephone pole in my town that was used 150 years ago to exact discipline on the locals, some voluntarily..rolleyes1.gif

    Seems like the participation was down a bit with DSS#30. I am thinking that the possibilities for this one would be wide "open" (rolleyes1.gif ). I am anticipating a high level of entries!

    Looking forward to judging this one! Will we find out who the other judge is soon?

    Hey, we had that last round and it nearly killed us all trying to come up with a shot.....!!! I'm relieved to have a nice pair of general, broad, interpretable opposites this time out after a couple of brilliant, but highly specific rounds. :whew rolleyes1.gif

    I've been trying to think of Open or Closed ideas all day long and can't come up with anything that seems unusual enough. Interesting enough. Have to keep thinking . . . .

    I'm good at generating ideas. I'm not so good at execution (but improving)! I have 8 ideas so far, some of which I don't think I can execute yet.
