A high pressure system in the San Francisco area gives some great colors in the morning. Here a few from this morning - San Mateo Bridge

You took something mundane, and made it beautiful, Rags! clap.gifthumb.gif

The interplay of natural and artificial light is stunning, as are your thoughtful compositions. thumb.gif
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap but memories are priceless.

They are beautiful. How did you get the sun to not flare in the last shots?

Hmmm, so the barometric pressure has much to do with the quality of the light? I learn something new every day!

These are really nice and a refreshing change from the oft-photographed bigger bridges. I love the first with the cool blue tones. thumb.gif

I can only get a definable orb as long as the sun is in the atmospheric layer (of heat & smog). I don't think it lasts for more than 3 minutes, then the flare blasts off in clear skies.

Thanks all for the comments I really appreciate them.

The high pressure system traps the smog and locks out a lot of wind.

You have come to realize there always seems to be a prevailing breeze and that kicks up the water and prevents real good reflective shots. But look at the water in the shots - very little chip (wavelets), the high pressure system at work.

BTW it's a bad time to shoot the kite surfers on the Bay... :D

Great shots, Rags. I don't think I ever saw the San Mateo Bridge look that good. eek7.gif

(And as somebody who's spent a lot of time windsurfing in front of it, I should know. deal.gif )

    Cheers,

Well done, Rags! I really like #2, with the colors in the sky and the streaks of the car lights on the bridge.

Hey Joel, I might have some of you (& or your buds) flying south of the driving range. Is that where you windsurf?

    Here are some albums:
