I haven't posted anything in a while, so I thought I'd share these. Both of them are actors in theater, so they were very relaxed in front of the camera. That combined with great chemistry, a good location, and nice weather made for a very fun shoot. C&C welcome.

He was telling the proposal story to me...I love hearing those stories, plus it usually gets great interaction between the couple.

11. I took a lot of full length shots of this, but I framed this one on purpose. What do you think?

    Hey there Mishka!

Nice stuff here!!! I like 3 the best. 1 also because she is a nose crinkler and that is the cutest thing ever. 9 too but I don't like his body language on that one... seems uncomfortable. Maybe he doesn't like nose crinkling? Poor sap! As for some nits, I think the color shots other than 2 and 12 could be a little warmer. I don't care for the framing on 11 and far prefer what you did on 12. I know people frame like that but I personally don't like half body crops at the bottom of a frame in most cases. Also, I personally would crop more into 4 I think. To my eye the top corner of the building getting chopped is distracting though the comp is otherwise stellar.

Very nice work and thanks for posting!!!

Thanks Matt for the feedback, I'll see about warming up some of those photos. Though, I prefer a cooler look than too much yellow or orange...

For 4 would you just crop out the building more?

I like number 12, too...probably one of my favs...

Yeah... just clipping a corner of something in a comp is a pet peeve for me. As an 8x10 this will be fine in ff it would be hard to crop in and maintain your positioning of the couple which I think is perfect. This is somewhat of a tweener for me, but for my stuff I try real hard not to "almost get" an item into the comp. Even though the building isn't your subject it takes up over 50% of the frame and thus is very important to the comp. This is of course my opinion and probably isn't shared by the masses but c&c is about opinions and that is mine. Don't think I'm hating though... I LOVE this set and I'm sure your clients are skipping through the daiseys over these!

Thanks--no, really I do appreciate the C&C--I went back and warmed up some of those photos (but did leave the building cut off-sorry--that way in case they do want prints of it, it can be cropped later). You can see the rest on my blog here: http://blog.birchtreephotography.com/2009/08/caitlin-and-derick-pittsburgh.html
