Got there in the late after noon with very high temps, no AC in the car, and no clouds :huh . Still very cool to see and I'd like to revisit the site with some morning light. If the shots with people in them should be moved to a different forum let me know, but I feel that they help convey the feeling of the vast and barren salt lake. C&C welcome.

What a great place! Compositionally that place looks like a gold mine! :D I like you first image the best. thumb.gif

That's a pretty cool jetty and some nice shots of it.
I think these pictures fit in here just fine as the people take up fewer pixels than the landscape. :D

Looks like a very cool place. In this set, I'm drawn to the people pictures. #3 #4 and #6 are great.

I like the compositions of #1 and #6.

    Fascinating story behind the jetty.

Built in 1970, but not always visible. Looks like time was on your side. thumb.gif

Fascinating story. And completely new to me also.

It is bigger than I gathered from the images. Very interesting.

    Garrett,

    Nice shots!

How bad were the mosquitoes in the daytime?

I was out there in May, managed to get some good early morning shots, but nearly eaten alive.

Thanks. I remember viewing your pictures and thinking that both the shots and location were amazing. This was when we were living in Bozeman and had no idea we'd be moving. So, once in Logan I looked up the Jetty and we took a drive to Golden Spike Nat Hist Site and Spiral Jetty.

The mosquitoes weren't bad at all. That could have been due to the 100 deg heat and the lake receeding a bit. Despite the bugs, I think you hit it just right with the time of day and the season. I'd like to get back there with more time to hike up the hill that over looks it.
