Does re-uploading photos wipe out captions?

After uploading a bunch of photos to a gallery and adding captions to them there I realized that I had forgotten to add keyword tags and copyright info to the photos before uploading them. :rolleyes So now I am doing that to the originals on my PC (and preserving the original file names). When I re-upload these newly tagged photos to my gallery will that wipe out the captions I have in place with the photos I uploaded before? Or will the captions still be there after I replace the currently posted photos with the newly tagged ones? Thanks!

Try it - replacing a photo won't change the caption you have on SmugMug - tools>this photo>replace photo
