hiding multiple pictures

Has anyone come across a situation where multiple pictures are to be hidden? Currently it seems to require clicking on multiple pictures and hide each one - is there a method to do this that I've overlooked?

Thanks!

Smugmug supports multiple "deletes". I've not seen anyway to do multiple "hides" without hiding each one individually. Is there a reason you can't use delete?

    Hi jfriend,

I think the reason would be the same whether the question is on a single picture or multiple pictures - Is there a reason someone wants to hide a single picture when they can use delete?

I'm now just using arrow keys and the h key for the quickest way hide them, maybe I'll keep them in separate folders.

Just asking why you were using hide. I've never found a reason to use Hide. If I don't want to display it, I delete it or move it to an unlisted gallery. And, there is an efficient multi-image delete function if that would work for you. If you have reasons for using hide, I don't know of any other way to do it.

Hide comes in handy for several reasons - say you shoot a wild party and want to keep everything in chronological order and in the same gallery, but at the same time you don't want the whole world to see a few of the more risque photos. mwink.gif

(I just made that up, I've got no risque photos in my galleries, hidden or otherwise. :cry)

But I do regularly use the hide feature in event galleries. Many times a handful of event photos will have some significant meaning to me even though they may not be technically or aesthetically worthy of being displayed. Hiding them keeps them in place for me but hidden from everyone else.

Unfortunately there currently is no faster/easier way than using the 'h' key and the arrow keys to hide and unhide photos.

The good news is Andy replied to a User Voice FR I submitted just this morning and he says there are some changes being considered around how the hide feature works. See my request and his reply here: http://smugmug.uservoice.com/pages/17723-smugmug/suggestions/289143

I haven't, although I would like to see one as long as it doesn't change the current workflow (h, arrow right).

I use hide all the time. It's difficult to see what needs to be deleted in the multiple delete tool, so before I was going though each picture and writing down the numbers to be deleted. The hide shortcut key has improved my workflow 100% because now I just hide them as I review the gallery. If I made a mistake or want to undo a hide, no problem, just one simple function as opposed to re-uploading a photo.

I use Hid a lot in family galleries I will set a month gallery and just throw most if not all the photos I took of our family. I like having photos of my girls but I do not want every one enjoying one of theme shucking there close and running down the sidewalk. Although funny and cute to me not everyone would look at them with a parents eyes.
I also shoot alot of events with children and until I get parents permission I will keep there child's photos hidden and if I get the OK I will then show publicly.
There are a ton of reasons and good uses for the hide photo option and it would be nice there was a way to do it a little faster. However I would like to see some other long awaited functions come first. Packages, coupons, easy sharing,
I know my spelling and grammar are poor some times my spell check says "I got nothing
for you" and there/ their is no grammar check yet so please forgive me Jesus did.
