"Standard" crops or "My" crops????

Given that, currently, SM (through EZP or Bay) does not offer customers the option of ordering matted and/or mounted prints, which of these would you be doing?

1. Cropping your originals to one or more of the "standard" mat sizes (5x7, 8x10, 11x14, 16x20), so you have 'artistic' control over your work.

2. Doing a 'broad crop' to the widest of the above sizes, that would allow the customer to further crop at time of purchase.

3. Post your best effort at composition and hope that the customer 'gets it' and doesn't crop out a key element of the photo.

4. Post your best effort and only sell those sizes that match your preferred ratio, and let the customer worry about getting a custom cut mat and/or frame made.

Use 'proof delay'(which you should be using anyway), and fix it yourself.

I just don't worry about it.
When I crop I crop the photo to look it's best creatively I pay NO attention to what size I cropped it.
98% of the photos I take will never see print anyway.
I sell very few prints off Smugmug.
I sell the print rights with the photos on a disc. as well as a package with books and prints.
You would think from time to time a customer would complain that they cannot get a photo printed at the size I gave it to them on the disc....never had a single complaint about weird crop sizes...what actually happens is they call us to have it custom printed for them.
