    Even though I know nothing about Polo - I'm glad I stopped in to take a look. Nice shots - I see the horses are where some type of shin guards. That's must help ease their pain. Thanks for posting.

    Thanks for the comments, I really appreciate them.

    Re: shin guards - Riders butt the opposing team rider with the horses shoulders, so there's a lot of close horse contact. In #3 the middle rider is pushing the foreground rider away from the ball at full gallop. Shin guards are a good idea.

    Good question/comment.. They don't "ease pain," so to speak, but they protect from direct injury a very critical tendon to the rear of that bone. Anatomically, what most think of as a horse's (pony in polo) elbow or knee would really be compared to our ankle or wrist joint.. So you could say that a horse really walks on the tips of it's fingers and toes!
